Dianna Rose Selected As New Human Resources Leader

Experienced Human Resources Leader Joins Foothill-De Anza

Los Altos Hills, CA —Chancellor Lee Lambert announced today that Dianna Rose has been selected as Foothill-De Anza Community College District’s next vice chancellor of human resources and equal opportunity. Rose, who will begin work at the district Sept. 16, brings more than two decades of human resources leadership experience spanning both the public and private sectors to her new role.

“Dianna’s engaging and collaborative leadership style, student-centered approach to problem-solving, and commitment to building relationships based on trust, integrity and respect align well with the district’s mission and my vision for Foothill-De Anza as a nationally recognized employer of choice,” said Lambert.

As vice chancellor, Rose will serve as Lambert’s chief advisor on strategic matters related to human resources and employee relations and will work with the executive team in strategic and long-range planning for the district. She will also work to modernize systems and workflows, creating a culture of service and ensuring that Human Resources offers a superior employee experience.

“I am thrilled to join the district’s new executive team and look forward to playing a key role in achieving the chancellor’s vision for Foothill-De Anza,” Rose said. I have had my eye on this district for a long time. Foothill-De Anza always seems to get it right.”

Since July 2022, Rose has served as vice president of human resources and equal employment opportunity for Hartnell Community College District in Salinas, a position responsible for all human resources and employee relations functions for the college district, including recruitment, selection, classification and compensation, benefits, workers’ compensation, performance management, and labor contract negotiations and administration.

Immediately prior to taking the position at Hartnell, Rose served as City College of San Francisco’s deputy chancellor of human resources, compliance, risk management & safety. In her more than five years at City College, the district’s Board of Trustees twice turned to Rose to serve as interim chancellor to cover vacancies in the top role. Her experience also includes human resources management positions at San Joaquin Delta Community College District, City of Stockton, County of Orange, San Juan Unified School District, and Oakland Unified School District.

Rose was one of two finalists recommended to Lambert after a national search by an 11-member committee made up of faculty, administrators, and staff. She takes over leadership of Human Resources from Patricia Hyland, interim vice chancellor since Nov. 13, 2023, who will work with Rose to ensure a steady transition. Hyland previously worked for the district for 16 years in various leadership positions prior to her retirement in 2022.

An active member in good standing of the California State Bar, Rose holds a Juris Doctor from University of Utah College of Law, a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis on human resources management and focus on training and organizational development from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
